InfoKiosk not displaying correctly in Internet Explorer
In case you installed your own InfoKiosk is not displaying correctly in Internet Explorer make sure that you didn't activate the IE option "Display intranet sites in Compatibility View" and/or "Display all websites in Compatibility View". Alternatively use Firefox.
Open PDF files in InfoKiosk
Generally InfoKiosk is just using the Acrobat Reader ActiveX PlugIn which is also used in the Internet Explorer. Therefore you just need to make sure that the Acrobat Reader is installed and that you can open PDF links in the Internet Explorer on the system you use with InfoKiosk.
Autostart of a batch or cmd file AFTER InfoKiosk has been started
Generally are 2 main issues you also have to consider when you want to run batch/cmd files within the InfoKiosk user account: 1. You have to allow the usage of the "cmd.exe" application via System-Security-Manager (Customized - Programs). 2. You have to allow the display of the command line window by deleting the window class entry "ConsoleWindowClass" in the Windows & Dialogs Management settings of the InfoKiosk configuration. Problems using Flash
If you are experiencing that a Flash animation on a certain page will only play back when the URL is called for the first time, please try using the following Internet Explorer setting:
- Open the Internet Explorer settings and go to temporary Internet files (Tools-Internet Options-General-Browsing history-Settings)
- Check the option "Every time I visit the webpage"

Getting Started with InfoKiosk

Installation and Setup

InfoKiosk is designed to transform any Windows computer into a secure kiosk terminal. After downloading the software, run the installer as an administrator and follow the setup wizard. The installation process takes approximately 5 minutes and will automatically configure basic security settings.

Initial Configuration

Use the Configuration Tool to set up your kiosk environment. Configure browser restrictions, payment devices (if applicable), user accounts, and security policies. The wizard-based interface guides you through each step, making it easy to customize the software for your specific needs.

Security Features

InfoKiosk provides comprehensive security including OS and browser lockdown, shell replacement, and session management. The software automatically clears browsing history, prevents unauthorized access to system functions, and ensures a clean session for each user.

Remote Management

For multiple terminal deployments, InfoKiosk supports remote management through our Remote Console service. Monitor all terminals from a central location, push configuration updates, view usage statistics, and perform maintenance tasks remotely. This feature is particularly valuable for Internet cafes and hotel business centers.

Troubleshooting Tips

If you encounter display issues in Internet Explorer, disable Compatibility View settings. For PDF viewing problems, ensure Adobe Reader is properly installed and configured.
